Have you ever wondered how long it takes for zombies to overrun a city?

Kevan Davis’ site contains a java app called the Zombie Infection Simulation. Now I’ve seen crazy mathematical models before, but this one looks like it was inspired by the genre-resurrecting zombie flick “28 Days Later.”

The fast-moving pink dots represent humans and these turn bright pink when they become panicked. Zombies, on the other hand, are symbolized by slow-moving gray dots. You’ll be surprised how fast the infection can spread. [via memepool]

After watching the simulation, I wondered how the zombies can survive after having infected the whole city. Well, apparently, they can go online and shop for something to eat. You can find just about anything in the net these days.

All this zombie talk has put me in the mood for a round of Resident Evil.

Hmmmm brains…

Just finished reading a Cal McDonald story about zombies. It’s in the classic zombie mold - you know - the slow, blundering kind. I like those better. I remember one comic saying he doesn’t mind being chased by zombies. They move slower than his granma. He’s more worried about werewolves because they’d even give you a 5 minute head start because they know they can catch you.

Btw, is that Tom Morello on your masthead?

I miss the old movies. I think I still have the Night of the Living Dead (remake) and Dawn of the Dead in my VHS collection. Did Clive Barker ever do a zombie story?

Yup, that’s Tom Morello on my masthead. I was planning to put the picture somewhere else but I liked it so much that I decided to put it in the index page. I’m still thinking of a way to acknowledge it’s him without ruining the overall design.
