I noticed Stephen Colbert back when he was still a “correspondent” in “The Daily Show with John Stewart.” (In fact I like watching his stuff and Lewis Black more than I like John Stewart.) I have not seen an episode of “The Colbert Report” but I plan to rummage around YouTube once I have more free time.
Colbert’s recent appearance on The Late Show with Conan O’Brien created some buzz in the geek community because he mentioned he was an avid Dungeons & Dragons and Lord of the Rings fan. He gushed that he was proud to have met Gary Gygax in person, that he once played a 23rd level magic user and revealed that he spoke quenya. He is definitely one of my favorite persons in the world right now.
